when you’re dead

What do you want people to do with your remains?

There are several options* to choose from, and I choose to donate my body to research, or, if possible, my body parts to those who need it.
Organs may be transferred from dead bodies to living ones, depending on the TOD* and COD*. (Also the condition the organ is in, of course.)

Some choose to have their ashes scattered due to spiritual reasons, while some believe that it is a ‘bridge’ to freedom for the dead’s soul.

Dead bodies, traditionally, have always been buried. It kind of follows the Circle of Life* logic from Disney’s The Lion King. Also, there are Christ followers who believe that our bodies came form dirt, and we therefore the lifeless corpse to dirt.

1. Options ~ I considered mummification… But I decided to only talk about modern disposal of the dead… Sorry ): Maybe another post on mummification some other time :D
2. TOD: time of death
    COD: cause of death
3. The Circle of Life

Mufasa: Everything you see exists together in a delicate balance. As king, you need to understand that balance and respect all the creatures, from the crawling ant to the leaping antelope.
Young Simba: But, Dad, don’t we eat the antelope?
Mufasa: Yes, Simba, but let me explain. When we die, our bodies become the grass, and the antelope eat the grass. And so we are all connnected in the great Circle of Life.
